Supporting Progress, Strengthening Communities

Great ideas. Big moments. Stronger communities

At Minerva Innovation Group, we support businesses in accessing R&D funding for their innovative work. Whether developing new ideas, improving existing products or solving complex challenges, we make sure their progress receives the recognition it deserves.

Innovation is about people, opportunity and finding better ways forward. That is why we are proud to support two organisations making a positive difference in their communities: Launch Foods and Leicester Riders.

Helping Launch Foods serve brighter futures

Launch Foods began with a simple but powerful idea: perfectly good food should not go to waste while children in the same city are going hungry.

Founded by Craig Johnson in 2018, the charity uses quality surplus food to prepare free, hot and nutritious meals. Its food trucks visit primary schools across Glasgow, serving an average of 300 children each school day. Since it began, Launch Foods has provided more than one million free meals to children and families.

The charity’s work goes beyond providing meals. By using quality surplus food, Launch Foods invites children to be part of the solution to food waste. They can enjoy a nutritious meal with their friends without feeling as though they are receiving charity, removing stigma while giving perfectly good food a valuable purpose.

Through Launch Coffee and Launch Catering, the organisation reinvests its profits into its charitable work, helping to fund more meals while creating employment opportunities in the local community.

Minerva Innovation Group makes an annual donation to Launch Foods, with our latest contribution helping the charity provide meals for 1,000 children this year. We are pleased to play a small part in supporting Craig, his team and the volunteers who bring energy, care and kindness to communities across Glasgow.

Leicester Riders: Looking Back at the Play of the Season

Leicester Riders: Looking Back at the Play of the Season

While Launch Foods strengthens its community through food, care and opportunity, Leicester Riders brings people together through sport, giving the city something to support, celebrate and share.

Minerva Innovation Group is proud to sponsor the Riders. The partnership has a special connection for us, as our founder, Adam, was once a professional basketball player and knows firsthand the skill, discipline and teamwork behind every performance.

Throughout last season, the Minerva Play of the Month celebrated the Riders’ standout moments. With the new season now upon us, it is the perfect time to look back at the Minerva Play of the Season.

With the game on the line, the Riders produced a remarkable late comeback, capped by a huge three pointer before holding firm in the final seconds. The bench and crowd erupted in celebration, bringing an unforgettable finish and a worthy Minerva Play of the Season.

The moment captured the determination, teamwork and belief that also drive innovation. As R&D funding specialists, we recognise these qualities in the businesses we work with every day.

Launch Foods and Leicester Riders support their communities in very different ways, but both show the positive difference that committed people can make. We are proud to support them and excited to see what they achieve next.

If your business is investing in innovation, our specialists would be pleased to explore the R&D funding opportunities that may be available. Start a conversation with us here.
