A Successful Day at the Royal Welsh Show

Agricultural innovation, from precision farming and livestock health to machinery development and sustainable food production, was at the heart of productive discussions with farmers, rural businesses and industry professionals.

These conversations highlighted both the considerable amount of research, experimentation and problem-solving taking place across the sector and a recurring theme: many agricultural businesses do not necessarily recognise their everyday development work as research and development.

Reaching a community of more than 7,000 Welsh livestock farmers, Adam Pearce, Director of Minerva Innovation Group, was on hand to hear about their ideas, challenges and ambitions, while highlighting that trials, improvements and attempts to overcome technical challenges may qualify for R&D tax relief or innovation funding.

The Royal Welsh Show, and similar events, give us the chance to make our support more accessible and allow us to meet businesses, understand what they are working on and explore how their ideas could be taken forward.
